START/FINISH LINE & FESTIVAL AREA MAP

CHECK-IN

Before heading to the participant registration tent (#19 on the above map), you can park your bike at one of the bike corrals (#26) made available to free up your hands and cut down on congestion in the check-in line.

If you have not reached the fundraising minimum of $250 by the day of Tour you can still ride. Just make a donation via your phone to cover the balance OR keep fundraising for the next 30 days to reach the minimum. Either way, you have until October 7th to earn gifts for your fundraising.

If you are a Red Rider, head to the Living Red tent (#7 on the above map) to pick up your 2024 Red Rider jersey.

BREAKFAST - Sponsored by Lakanto

We will have a variety of breakfast items including breakfast burritos, Lakanto granola, Too Good yogurt, fruit, and coffee available to fuel up for your ride. Nutrition information for all breakfast items will be available in the breakfast tent (#17 on the map)

BEFORE YOU HEAD TO THE START LINE

Be sure to do an ABC check - air, breaks, and chain - on your bike before heading to the chute. If you need assistance, head over to tent #15 to have Bicycle Mobile Tune give you a last-minute check.

Last, but not least, make sure your water bottles are on your bike and are filled. If you need to fill up, visit the hydration station (#24 ) by the chute where you will find water and sports drink.

HAVE A GREAT RIDE!

Riders will be called to line up in the chute 15 minutes before the start time for each route. Each route start will be preceded by safety instructions, a brief message about our mission, and the national anthem.

Start Times:

60-mile route: 7:00 am

30-mile route: 8:30 am

10-mile route: 10:00 am

Rules of the Road

Our top priority for everyone participating in Tour is safety. We require that everyone wear a helmet while riding. No one will be to ride in the Tour de Cure without a helmet.

All three cycling routes have sections on open roads, which means you must follow traffic laws like any other vehicle on the road. There will be sections on bike paths that are quieter, but on busier roads, please stay in designated bike lanes (if available) and ride single file to stay safe and not impede traffic. Do yourself, fellow riders, and drives a favor, and signal your stops and turns. Be predictable and conspicuous. Your bicycle should have a rear reflector or light.

On-Route Support

All routes feature rest stops to support you along the way. They provide water, sports drink, and an assortment of snacks and fruit. There is also basic first aid supplies available at each rest stop.

Between rest stops we have support vehicles patrolling the routes to keep you safe. If you have a mechanical issue or are unable to continue riding, they will transport you and your bike to the next resto stop or on to the finish line. If you see a support vehicle and need them to stop, put your fist in the air to indicate you need help. Don't just wave.

Calling for Help

On the wrist band attached to the number you get a check-in will be the emergency number to reach our Command Center. The number is 720-483-5338. You can put it in your phone now. In the event of a medical emergency, call 911 before contacting the Command Center. If you are lost, have a mechanical breakdown, or are unable to continue riding, call the Command Center at the emergency number.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

The day of Tour de Cure is expected to have temperature highs in the 80s. Be sure you are drinking plenty of fluids during your ride and in the days leading up to Tour. Drink before you are thirsty and eat before you are hungry to keep your body fueled. Getting sufficient carbs, fluids, and electrolytes makes for a more pleasant ride. At the rest stops, we will have a variety of snacks, water, and sports drink available.

And don't forget the sunscreen!

Even with the best of training, hydrating, and fueling, sometimes we all have tough days we don't expect. If that happens, don't feel you have to ride every mile you planned. You already proved you are are a hero before you left the start line when you raised funds and awareness to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE FESTIVAL

Our post-ride Tour Festival gives you a chance to celebrate your accomplishments both on your bike and in making a difference in the lives of people with diabetes as Tour de Cure rider or volunteer.

Finisher Medals - Cross the finish line and you'll be presented with your own 2024 Rocky Mountain Tour de Cure medal.

Lunch at the ADA Cafe - You have probably worked up a good appetite on your ride, so we have some great lunch offerings waiting for you. Fork & Thyme Catering will be providing a barbecue lunch with a variety of sides. Lunch opens at 11:00am.

Cornhole Tournament - Gather your friends for a little friendly competition! Participants can sign up at the Kid's Zone tent, and the cornhole tournament begins at 12:00pm. Winners of the tournament will receive a prize.

Champion's Tent - This is where those who raise at least $1,000 will get the VIP treatment they've earned. Post-ride, Champions will receive special snacks, cold mocktails provided by Lakanto, special gifts, and their Champions medal.

Living Red Tent - Red Riders, those living with diabetes, are why we ride. At the Red Rider tent they are celebrated with special gifts and a Red Rider jersey.
